Explanation:

i think this might help i know its not 7 sentences

Answer 2
A conflict would be a problem that characters face in a story or excerpt. An example of this would be if in the film “Lion King,” Scar is jealous of Simba and Mufasa because he wants to be the king. A conflict will always include the main problem, and which the character(s) must solve to lead to the resolution of the story. In literature and film, conflict is a clash between two opposing forces that creates the narrative thread for a story. Conflict usually occurs when the main character struggles with either an external conflict or an internal conflict. Conflicts can also be a quarrel between the main character(s) in the story, which causes the conflict to grow. A good conflict will most likely contain these two things: a want and an obstacle, which will lead up to the conflict.
The rising action is just one part of the structure of a story’s overall plot. For example, in the story “Little Red Riding Hood,” the rising action includes everything that takes place after Little Red sets off for Grandma’s house, up to the moment she comes face to face with the Big Bad Wolf, most of the story contains LOTS of rising action. The rising action always includes the greatest tension, and turning point in the story. It’s usually a very “intense” moment in the plot of the story. It will take place after the conflict, this makes the plot of the story very interesting for anyone reading the story. Again, in the movie “The Lion King,” Simba’s guilt forces him to escape to the jungle, Napa challenges Simba to return and restore the kingdom, which he does and confronts the villian“Scar.”

There ya go lol. :)

The Story of Native American Corn
Edward Eggleston

1 When the Pilgrims came to Cape Cod, they sent out Miles Standish and some other men to look through the country and find a good place for them to settle. Standish tried to find some of the Native Americans in order to make friends with them, but the Native Americans ran away whenever they saw him coming. One day he found a heap of sand. He knew it had been lately piled up, because he could see the marks of hands on the sand where the Native Americans had patted it down. Standish and his men dug up this heap. They soon came to a little old basket full of Native American corn. When they had dug further, they found a very large new basket full of fine corn, which had been lately gathered.

2 The Europeans, who had never seen it before, thought Native American corn was very beautiful. Some of the ears were yellow, some were red. On other ears blue and yellow grains were mixed. Standish and his men said it was a "very goodly sight."

3 They wanted the corn for seed. They made up their mind to pay the Native Americans whenever they could find them. The next summer they found out who were the owners of this buried corn, and paid them for all the corn they had taken. If they had not found this corn, they would not have had any to plant the next spring, and so they would have starved to death.

4 The people that were with Miles Standish settled at Plymouth. They were the first that came to live in New England. A Native American named Squanto came to live with the white people at Plymouth. Squanto was born at this very place. He had been carried away to England by a sea captain. Then he had been brought back by another captain to his own country. When he got back to Plymouth, he found that all the people of his village had died from a great sickness. As he could speak some English, and as all his own tribe were dead, he now came to live with the white people

Choose the sentence that BEST summarizes the story.
A) The Indians and Miles Standish were friends.
B) Corn was a very important crop to the Pilgrims and Indians.

D) Miles Standish was the first European to settle at Plymouth.

Arnie went downstairs to get the newspaper for his dad. As usual, it was stuck in the front bushes. As Arnie reached for the paper, something caught his eye. A small, feathery lump sat under one of the bushes. Arnie leaned down for a closer look and gasped when he saw it was the mother sparrow. But, she was not chirping—she was hurt. Arnie and his dad drove to the wildlife center. A smiling woman greeted them as they entered the center. They handed her the shoebox, and she delivered it to a veterinarian, which is an animal doctor.

"You did the right thing by bringing her here," the woman said when she returned from delivering the box. "Many people cause animals more harm when they try to help them. They don't think to bring the animals to a trained expert as you did. You can come back tomorrow to check on her." When Arnie woke up the next day, he heard the father sparrow and the babies chirping cheerfully outside his window. Arnie and his father returned to the wildlife center and talked to the veterinarian. She thanked them for bringing the bird to the center instead of trying to fix her wing themselves.

"Can we take her back to her babies today?" Arnie asked.

"Yes, she is as good as new," the doctor answered. "You made the right choice to bring her here. I am sure her babies will be grateful."

After six hours of playing Grand Larceny VII, he ate some pizza and fell asleep with a slice on his stomach and his feet on his book bag. When Kyle came home from school the next day, he was noticeably distraught. He balled up his report card and placed it inside a soup can in the garbage. He then flipped the soup can upside down in the garbage can and arranged loose pieces of trash over it. As he plopped down on the couch, he let out a sigh and picked up his controller.

I can infer________________.

The evidence that supports my inference is _________________.

Answers

Answer: I can infer that Kyle did not have good grades in his report card and was worried that his parents were going to find out. The evidence that supports my inference is that in the text it says “When Kyle came home from school the next day, he was noticeably distraught. He balled up his report card and placed it inside a soup can in the garbage.” This shows that he didn’t do good because nobody with good grades would throw out their report card.

Explanation:

Answer:

I can infer that Kyle was suppose to study for a test but instead procrastinated a forgot to study. The next day he failed the test because he didn't study. He then attempted to hide his report card with his grades from his parents.

The evidence that supports my inference is

he came home angry and slamming the door the first day because he didn't want to study he instead played games and ate food. When him came home he hid his report card because it had bad grades.

Drama
by J. Robbins

The theater room was quiet as Paulina and Roseanne slipped in through the door and shut it quickly behind them. They looked around in confusion until I called out to them. The identical looks of relief on their faces were almost comical.
“Calm down,” I whispered. “We aren’t doing anything wrong. The founding members of the drama club are allowed into the theater room anytime during school hours. This is perfectly legal.”
“Sure it is,” replied Roseanne. “That’s why you’re wearing all black and hiding behind a desk, right?”
“I’m an actor, Rosie, and we’re very dramatic,” I snapped. “We have to find out what play Dominiquette and the Spacey Invaders are going to present at Talent Night. She had no right to take over the drama club. If we can outperform them onstage, we’ll be back in the club in no time.”
“Maybe we could just meet with Dominiquette and talk about this whole big mess,” said Paulina. I scoffed and continued digging through the drama club’s collection of costumes. Dominiquette was the unofficial leader of the group nicknamed the Spacey Invaders, and she and her cronies had taken over the drama club from me and my friends. She would no sooner listen to me than a spider would listen to a fly.
“Hey, here is something!” Roseanne called out. “It’s a skull. Do you think they’re going to do something as predictable as Hamlet?”
“Not likely,” replied Paulina. “I bet that’s left over from last year.”
“I found it!” I screeched, holding a stuffed seagull over my head in triumph. “They must be planning to do Chekhov’s The Seagull. It’s the only explanation.” The three of us stared down at the fake bird with grudging admiration. As far as I knew, no high school drama club in Chambersville had ever attempted something as ambitious as The Seagull. Dominiquette was not just ambitious—she was downright devious!
“How are we going to beat them now?” asked Paulina dejectedly.
“I have no idea,” I replied. “But we only have two days to figure it out.”

Read the text "How Ice Cream Is Made":

Ice cream is a frozen blend of sweetened cream and air with added flavoring. This is how it is made commercially.

Necessary Ingredients:

Dairy products, including milk, cream, and butter fat

Sugar

Eggs

Flavoring

Approved additives to prevent ice crystals during production process

Production Steps:

Step 1: To start, the ingredients are carefully measured and then combined together. The dairy ingredients, solids, and additives are blended well to ensure the liquid and dry components are completely mixed.

Step 2: Next, the mix is pasteurized. This means it is heated to high temperatures to remove any bacteria which could be found in the raw ingredients. Pasteurization can occur at 155°F for 30 minutes or 175°F for 25 seconds. The temperatures used to pasteurize ice cream need to be higher than those used for milk because the mixture includes high-fat dairy sources, sweeteners, and egg yolks.

Step 3: Following pasteurization, the ice cream mix is homogenized. This occurs when the fat globules in the cream are broken down into smaller parts through vigorous mixing. Once homogenized, the ice cream should be very smooth and uniform, meaning free of bubbles. Now the ice cream will be easier to whip and will not melt as fast.

Step 4: The next step is to let the ice cream mixture stand for at least four hours. During this time, the fat cools and forms crystals.

Step 5: A special barrel freezer is then used to gradually freeze the ice cream. The machine also pumps clean air into the mix. This keeps the ice cream soft and allows it to absorb the different flavorings. Without the air, the mixture would become as hard as an ice cube.

Step 6: During freezing, flavoring can be added. Ice cream flavors have moved on from plain vanilla and chocolate to include hundreds of combinations using fruit, nuts, candy, cookies, and other baked goods.

Step 7: Finally, the ice cream is packaged and put into a blast freezer where the temperature is between -22 to -40 Fahrenheit.

Select the evidence from the text that supports the inference that pasteurizing is an essential step to making ice cream.

A. Following pasteurization, the ice cream mix is homogenized.
B. Pasteurization can occur at 155°F for 30 minutes or 175°F for 25 seconds.
C. The dairy ingredients, solids, and additives are blended well to ensure the liquid and dry components are completely mixed.

Read this excerpt from "The Day the Gulls Went Crazy" by Susan E. Quinlan.

Capturing and rebanding an adult gull is much more difficult than capturing a small flightless chick. Resourceful as always, Larry developed a special capture technique. He rigged up a tool using a rope noose, monofilament fishing line, and a fishing pole. Knowing the fight a two-and-a-half-pound adult gull might put up, he scared the bird off its nest and replaced its fragile eggs with dummy eggs. Next, he laid the noose around the nest and moved away. A trail of fishing line led from the noose to the fishing pole and reel in his hands. Crouching low, Larry waited for the return of the bird in need of rebanding. When the moment was right, he reeled in the line, tightening the noose around the gulls legs.

What is the author's purpose in this paragraph?

A. to describe what Larry does with the gulls' eggs

B. to emphasize the materials that Larry used

C. to explain how Larry used his cleverness to capture gulls

D. to highlight how defensive gulls are of their nests

Answers

C because it’s explains how Larry used his equipment to capture gills

Answer:

C. To explain how Larry used his cleverness to capture gulls

Explanation:

The author's purpose in this excerpt is to explain how Larry used his cleverness to capture gulls. This is due to the first statement of the opening recognition of seagulls and how difficult it is to catch them. For a successful rally, he has to improvise. He did this by "assembling the  tool with a rope sling, a monofilament  line, and a  fishing rod."

Thus, the correct answer is C.

PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ HELP ME i begging YOUUUUU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!By the year 1500, Europeans had mainly been staying in one part of the world Europe- for almost a thousand years. However, at the end of the 15th century, European explorers began sailing to the far ends of the Earth, seeking out places they thought no one had ever been. The Dangers of Exploration Sailing out into uncharted waters was an incredibly dangerous thing to do. No Europeans really knew what was out there. Uneducated people still thought the world was flat and that sailing too far could mean falling off the end of the world. The explorers and sailors knew better, but they still were only guessing at where they were going. Sailing into unknown territory could lead to attack by enemy ships or pirates. The explorers also didnt know how long their trips would take, so they were risking starvation and dying of thirst (drinking the ocean water would kill them). They also risked death by diseases such as scurvy, caused by lack of Vitamin C (known for its symptoms of bloody gums). All ocean ships were still made out of wood, and the high winds and ferocious waves of sea storms could crush their ships or flip them over and sink them. Since the explorers didnt really know where they were going, they could easily get lost at sea. Finally, when the crew of a ship grew angry, they would sometimes have a mutiny a rebellion against the captain, which would cause chaos on a ship. Why would men want to make such dangerous trips?Reasons for Exploration One main motive was trade. Europe had long been interested in trading with Asia, so they could have access to the exotic spices that could keep food fresh and preserved. A problem arose when the Ottoman Turks conquered many lands between Europe and Asia. The Turks and Arabs had set up middlemen that Europeans would have to pay if they wanted Asian goods. Instead of paying these middlemen, some Europeans had the idea of finding new ways of getting to Asia over the oceans. They figured that if they sailed far enough west, they could reach China and India by wrapping around the globe. Besides seeking spices in Asia, the Europeans were also hoping to find precious metals, such as gold, in new lands. Another motive was that the European countries were competing with each other for new territory. Each of them wanted to claim new lands in making their country bigger and more powerful. They wanted to spread the glory of their nation by taking over new lands. When one country takes over or controls another it is called imperialism. Along with these conquerors went missionaries people sent to spread religious messages and convert others to their faith. In short, the reasons for European exploration can be summarized by the 3 Gs:God, Glory and Gold1. In the chart below, list 3 risks that came with exploring the oceans. On the other side, explain three benefits, rewards, or motivations for exploring.RISKSBENEFITS (MOTIVATIONS)a.a.b.b.c.c.2. What is imperialism?3. What are missionaries and what did they want? How was Exploration Made Possible?New Technologies Johann Guttenbergs invention of the printing press made maps and geographic information much more available. Since gunpowder had been introduced to the Europeans by the Arabs in the 1200s, Europeans developed new weapons that could keep their ships safe from invaders. Spanish and Portuguese ships were the first to perfect very powerful canons that made their ships deadly to any other on the sea. Naval technology was also extremely important. Mapmakers, or cartographers, created better maps and charts of the seas. Also, European sailors learned to use the magnetic compass to find better directions at sea. Europeans also built bigger and better ships. The Portuguese used ships whose sails, masts, and rudders allowed explorers to sail across or against the wind. Strong Monarchies European countries were also becoming ruled by monarchies (governments led by a king or queen) that built up their armies and navies and wanted to use them. The kings and queens of Europe were increasing their power and resources, and they could focus beyond their borders. They were willing to pay for the expensive and risky trips explorers were willing to make at sea, hoping they could make their kingdoms richer. 4. What were 3 new technologies in the 1400s that would allow explorers to sail farther out to sea?New TechnologyWhy was this important?1)2)3)5. What is a monarchy?6. Why would strong monarchies in Europe lead to more sea exploring? You are a contractor and charge $65 for a site visit plus an additional $15 per hour for each hour you spend working at the site.
