Answer:
BECAUSE I THINK SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE COLD AND PREFER SUMMER HOT
Explanation:
Read the poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost:
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down today.
Nothing gold can stay.
Do you agree with the speaker that nothing ever stays the same? Is change unavoidable, whether you welcome it or not? Find at least two examples from your own life to use in your response.
Answer:
1. Yes, I agree with the speaker that nothing ever stays the same.
2. Yes, change is unavoidable whether it is welcomed or not.
3. Find the examples below.
Explanation:
It is very true that change is the only constant thing in life. I have experienced change in my own life. Two instances of such include;
1. I used to be a timid and shy person who had stage fright. Today, I am more outspoken. This change happened because I consciously worked on my speaking abilities.
2. I dreaded mathematics during high school. I am now good at Math because I devoted time to study to become better at it.
, what is the meaning of family? What do you think it means to be a parent, especially a mother? How do you relate to your parents or guardians when they are trying to give you advice?
Answer:
For me, family is an emotional connection more than a heretitary lineage. The bond between a few people makes them family, not their blood. Being a parent/guardian is nothing more and nothing less than being the nurturing, cultivative figure in a child's life. This is why adoption is an option, because if "family" were restricted to only ancestral lineage, then those who have adopted children and adopted parents/guardians wouldn't be considered a family. Motherhood especially is based on the nurturing nature of a maternal figure. In nature, children often have bonds with their mothers, even if they aren't biological parents, because it is less a matter of who birthed them and more a matter of who cares for them.
When my parents give me advice, I take it more carefully than I would a stranger, or even someone else I trust, because my parents have put in so much time, energy, and resources into my survival and my thriving. Because of their efforts, I know I can trust them. Noone would waste time raising a child only to give them idiotic and/or destructive advice. So I take their advice, and I hold it dear more.
I hope this helps!
Question 3
Reread this sentence. Which choice BEST explains
whether this is an emotional appeal or a logical
argument?
Logan Bower, President of the Dairymen and Professional
Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania, points out that the use
of rb ST "was approved by the FDA only after being found
completely safe for the consumer, the cow, and the
environment."
A logical argument, because Bower
is giving his expert opinion.
A logical appeal, because it cites a
fact about the consumer, the cow,
and the environment.
An emotional appeal, because
Bower is well known but not an
authority on the subject of rbST.
An emotional appeal, because of
the loaded words "completely
safe."
Answer: the correct answer is A logical argument, because Bower is giving his expert opinion

how does your identity influence what you can do in the fight against racism
Answer:
Here's an example:
I identify as a white, pansexual female. I also acknowledge my white privilege—not that I have more than people of color but that I am not treated negatively because of the color of my skin. I don't face systemic racism. I don't worry about whether I will be followed through a store by loss prevention every time I go shopping.
I can also talk to my white friends and help them understand what unconscious bias is and how they can also use their privilege to uplift people of color. If they don't want to open their minds and their hearts or become educated on the matter, I move on. Sadly, you can't change everyone's mind and you can't force someone to feel a certain way or adopt particular beliefs. All I can do is hope. And yes, I've lost friends but I'm okay with that.
I've become an ally as well. I let my friends and everyone I know that I stand by them and will stand against any and all racist behavior. Not only will I stand against it, I will fight with them to obtain true racial equality.
Explanation:
Definition of White Privilege, taken directly from the Merriam Webster website:
the set of social and economic advantages that white people have by virtue of their race in a culture characterized by racial inequality
Examples of white privilege:
We don’t fear for our lives when we come in contact with the police. We don’t fear for our children when they walk down the street. Our names are less likely to influence whether we have opportunities to interview for jobs.Assumptions and opinions of us are not based on the color of our skin.Another little-known fact:
The term "white privilege" dates all the way back to 1818, so this really isn't something new. People have just been brushing it under the rug and ignoring it, but now people are tired of ignoring it and they want justice and fairness.
Definition of Unconscious Bias, taken directly from the Vanderbilt.edu website:
Unconscious bias (or implicit bias) is often defined as prejudice or unsupported judgments in favor of or against one thing, person, or group as compared to another, in a way that is usually considered unfair. ... In contrast, deliberate prejudices are defined as conscious bias (or explicit bias).
Definition of Systemic Racism, taken directly from Wikipedia:
Institutional racism, also known as systemic racism, is a form of racism that is embedded as normal practice within society or an organization. It can lead to such issues as discrimination in criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power, and education, among other issues.

Select the independent clause in the sentence: Not only does each branch of government have their own specific job, they also have to monitor the other two branches to make sure they are acting in accordance with the law.
Answer:
"they also have to monitor the other two branches to make sure they are acting in accordance with the law."
Explanation:
An independent clause is a group of words or phrases that can stand as a full sentence without the need for any other clause or words to complete it. It contains a subject and a verb, and a complete thought which makes it independent.
In the given sentence, there are two parts of the sentence. One is "Not only does each branch of government have their own specific job" which is a dependent clause as it does not contain a complete thought or is not a complete sentence. The other part of the second "they also have to monitor the other two branches to make sure they are acting in accordance with the law" is an independent clause as it not only contains a subject "they" and verb "monitor" but it also is a complete sentence on its own.
Thus, the second part of the sentence is an independent clause.

Hi people of the internet, I want your opinion on a thing I wrote. See I needed to write endings for something and I want to know if it is good enough to turn in. I hope you like them. :)
1. ...Her right arm lay on the cushioned parapet before her. She raised her hand, and made a slight, quick movement toward the right. No one but her lover saw her. Every eye but his was fixed on the man in the arena.
He turned, and with a firm and rapid step he walked across the empty space. Every heart stopped beating, every breath was held, every eye was fixed immovably upon that man. Without the slightest hesitation, he went to the door on the right, and opened it.
Behind it, to the surprise of the youth, was a small wooden platform on a pole. The fine lady high in the air on the platform, with the tiger circling it, trying to find a way up to her.
He was very confused. Was this new? He assumed he had to try and save her. Why did his lover direct him to this door? Unless the other door held a worse fate. He knew he did not have much time, the tiger had not noticed him yet. How was he going to get up to her? Then he saw a plank of wood in the corner of the dungeon, just long enough to reach her. But to get to the plank he would have to pass the tiger, which was sure to notice him.
There was no other way, he had to run for it to the plank. He bilt up all of the courage he had, and sprinted for the piece of wood. The tiger had spotted the youth as he predicted but he did not look back. He got to the wood plank and grabbed it. Just then he heard the tiger feet behind him. With one swift movement he turned and hit the tiger full in the face with the piece of wood. With the tiger temporarily dazed he ran for the beautiful lady on the platform, set the plank up, grabbed her hand, and ran as fast as he can for the door out of the dungeon and to fresh air.
The tiger, now recovered, was right behind them. The youth new the tiger would cach them soon, but they were so close. The door was right in front of them. The youth and the lady both jumped out of the dungeon and closed the door hard on the tiger. They were met with great applause. The youth looked up at his lover, and smiled, and she smiled back.
2. ...Her right arm lay on the cushioned parapet before her. She raised her hand, and made a slight, quick movement toward the right. Her father, the king however, saw this slight movement of his daughter's hand. He could not believe that she could love such a man. This youth knew quite well that he was not at no circumstances allowed to be with his daughter.
The more the king thought about it, the more angrier he became. The youth was halfway to the door when he shouted out;
¨Wait!”
Everybody, pulse, his daughter looks at his majesty.
The king continued; ¨ I think, for the crime of loving my daughter, which he fully knew he was not permitted to do. He is not allowed to have a trial of chance.
The youth was standing in the arena, obviously not knowing where the king was taking this. The king now addressed the guards at the sides of the arena.
´´Gards! Open the left door, and let justice be served.´´
Answer:
It’s really good!
Explanation:
I didn’t notice any spelling mistakes other than in the last line: “Gards” should be “Guards“. Your pacing was very nice, and the story was incredibly interesting. I think it’s definitely good enough to be turned in.

In Dona Nobis Pacem, what is the dynamic marking at m. 9?
Answer: mp
Explanation: In the piece "Dona Nobis Pacem" by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, the director of the orchestra marks a dynamic of mp at minute 9. "mp" in music means to play "mezzo piano" (which means moderately quiet), so when the piece is in a very intense place because the orchestra is playing forte (strongly), the director indicates to moderately decrease the volume of the instruments.
