Hello everyone!
So i have a story i need to write about an act of courage and I've completed most of it already, but I'm having a bit of trouble coming up with ideas for the next part. if you don't mind, would you kindly please read what I have so far and give me ideas on what could happen next? (The beginning was too short even though it was an act of courage but I have to make the next part an even BIGGER act of courage.)
In a small town in Eastern Texas, Sarah was walking home from school when she saw a fight that was occurring at the back of a store. Sarah had always stopped by Walmart every day after school to pick up a newspaper for her Grandfather, but she had never seen anything like this happen before. Two guys were bullying a young boy, and Sarah didn’t know what to do. The two guys looked like they were in 8th grade, while the little boy looked as if he was in 5th grade. Sarah’s heart was beating as fast as a drum. She knew this wasn’t right, however, she was questioning if she should help the boy or not. Even though she knew there might be a possibility that she could get hurt, Sarah knew she had to stand up for what was right. She ran to the boy and secured him in her arms. He started crying and hugged Sarah as she glared at the two boys. “Stop! This isn’t right! He is just a little boy and doesn’t deserve to be treated like this! I'm sure you wouldn’t like it if someone did the same to you, so don’t do it to him.” After Sarah stopped her lecture, the boys were inarticulate. “Ok sorry,” the one guy mumbled under his breath. “What did you say?” the little boy asked innocently while wiping his tears. “I said sorry,” the guy said. “Now can we leave?” he asked Sarah. “Not until your other friend apologizes,” Sarah said with confidence. “I’m really sorry kiddo,” the other guy said. “I’m extremely disappointed in both of you. If I ever see you messing with this boy or anyone ever again, I’ll call authorities, and I’m positive you wouldn’t like that. Would you?” Sarah asked the boys. “No ma’am,” they said quickly.” After that, Sarah called the little boy’s parents and made sure to get him home safely. Sarah then walked to her house, only to find her grandfather missing. “Grandpa! Where are you?” Sarah exclaimed, hoping to hear her grandfather’s voice. Within the corner of her eye, Sarah saw her grandpa sleeping on the couch. She smiled and left the living room.
The next day, Sarah got up and went into the kitchen, where she saw her grandpa reading the newspaper she had picked up for him yesterday. “Good morning sweetie. How was school yesterday? I didn’t get a chance to ask you because I accidentally took a nap. After all, 4:30 p.m. is my nap time.” Sarah’s grandfather said with a chuckle. Sarah smiled. “My day was actually quite different than normal.” Sarah’s grandfather looked confused. “How so? You better tell me quickly because I have a bingo event I need to go to in an hour. What can I say? I’m living up to the expectations of an 78-year-old.” He said with a smirk on his face as Sarah giggled. “Very funny. Well, school was the same as always, but after school was a different story. You see, as I was picking up a newspaper from Walmart, I saw a fight occurring at the back of the store.” Sarah explained. “I’m assuming my Sarah stopped the fight.” Sarah’s grandfather said. “You guessed it!” Sarah called out. They both smiled as Sarah picked up her backpack and got her supplies. “Heard anything from Mom?” Sarah asked, hoping to get an answer. All of sudden, everything went silent. “No, only the note.” Sarah’s grandfather said. A few weeks ago, Sarah’s mom ran away and left a note saying nothing but this:
Dear family,
I’ve done everything I possibly could to financially hold this family together, but nothing seems to be working. I’m going to figure things out and will eventually come back.
Love, Mom.
Sarah and her grandfather were depressed for weeks. None of them had ever thought that she would do something like this, yet there they were, reading the note explaining what she had done. They called her multiple times, but each time, it went straight to voicemail. They called authorities, desperate to find her; all they really had was a note which wasn’t much help. Sarah and her grandfather eventually got their lives together, which prompted Sarah to apply for multiple jobs, allowing more financial support for the duo. After all, Sarah was 15 going on 16, and this was a part of becoming a young adult.
this was really good! you should write about her and the young boy she met earlier going out on an adventure to look for her mother and facing different obstacles while on their journey.

In like manner, he'd named his new fabrics, games, and foods, until he'd created an entire language.
Mixing the plant's oil with soot, Wesley made a passable ink. As the finale to his summer project, he used the ink and his own eighty-letter alphabet to record the history of his civilization's founding.

Personally I think that 4 would be the most interesting. Just talk about your break, and if you don't have to share it with the class, be as real and honest about your feelings in your writing because only your teacher will read it.
Explanation:
(In case you wanted me to write it for you, here was my break. The issue is tho, that this doesn't really apply to you but oh well)
My winter break was not how I expected it to be. I did enjoyed the small moments I had with family and friends, but unfortunately the stress and business of the holiday got to me. At the beginning of break I started my Christmas shopping in order to get friends and family nice and thoughtful gifts for the holidays. However, a store-bought gift is not nearly as thoughtful as a personalized gift that I could make myself, therefore I started to make every single one of my gifts for people. I spent many nights making gifts until midnight, occasionally until sunrise, because I felt distant from my friends; I hoped that a Christmas gift would be the kind of friendly gesture that could alleviate the distant feeling. I was so caught up in making gifts for people, that I was ill prepared for the trip to my grandparents house for Christmas (they live in a different state). I have friends that live near my grandparents that I would love to hang out with, but I would feel bad about contacting them last minute. I easily put my social inhibitions aside because I most likely wouldn't get to see them again until the next holiday. I hung out with some of my closest friends at an abandoned mall. We explored a broken-down Macy's with a rancid smell, appalling stains, and mold in the ceiling tiles. As disgusting as it seems, it was the best part of my winter break. I went home a day before New Year's Eve and had a quiet celebration the next day, for 2021. Even though it was already 2021, all my friends Christmas gifts were unfinished. I stayed up late, yet again, finishing gifts. I finally delivered them on Saturday, but because I had spent the whole break staying up late and not sleeping in, I never had time to catch up on sleep or even relax. My break was wonderful but I can't wait until the weekend so I can have a good night's sleep.

"Where is the earth?," asked The Girl, to which Kúterastan replied by asking: "Where is the sky?" Then, requesting that he not be disturbed, he began to sing: "I am thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking what shall I do next." Four times he thus sang, at the end of the fourth time, brushing his face with his hands, which he rubbed briskly together and parted quickly; and there before him stood The Sun. Raising his left hand to his brow from the sweat thereon, which he rolled in his hands as before, Kúterastan let drop from his right palm a small boy. The four sat upon that still cloud for a time as if in reverie. The first to break the silence being he who commenced the creation. "What shall we do next? I do not like this cloud to live upon, but we are to rule and must stay together. How dreary it is here! I wish we had someplace to go." —"The North American Indian Apache Mythology—Creation Myth"

have a great day!Read the excerpt from "Opening Ceremonies of the New York and Brooklyn Bridge" by Hon. Seth Low, Mayor of the City of Brooklyn.
Fourteen years ago a city of 400,000 people on this side of the river heard of a projected suspension bridge with incredulity. The span was so long, the height so great, and the enterprise likely to be so costly, that few thought of it as something begun in earnest. The irresistible demands of commerce enforced these hard conditions. But Science said, "It is possible," and Courage said, "It shall be!" To-day a city of 600,000 people welcomes with enthusiasm the wonderful creation of genius. Graceful, and yet majestic, it clings to the land like a thing that has taken root. Beautiful as a vision of fairyland it salutes our sight. The impression it makes upon the visitor is one of astonishment, an astonishment that grows with every visit. No one who has been upon it can ever forget it. This great structure cannot be confined to the limits of local pride. The glory of it belongs to the race. Not one shall see it and not feel prouder to be a man.
What is the central idea of this excerpt?
This magnificent bridge was built despite the many doubts of the people of New York.
The Brooklyn Bridge is an example of the kind of glory the human race should strive for.
Everyone who sees or walks across this bridge will feel proud and remember its glory.

I need a quick paragraph about an alternate outcome for the book refugee quick!!!!!
I never read that book, but I'll try to make a paragraph (T_T)/
Refugee had great (but sad) endings. I was really happy to hear about Isabel’s life in Miami and how all of her family members and the Castillo’s were doing. Mahmoud’s story had a surprising ending because this old jewish lady (that turns out to be Ruthie) and her husband let Mahmoud’s family live in their house. The saddest part Ruthie told Mahmoud that Josef and her mom when to the concentration camp and died there:(. The most upset part was when the story said that Josef chose to go to the concentration camp instead of Ruthie, so she could stay alive. I thought it was so cool that all 3 of the stories connected in the end have Mahmoud family and Ruthie’s family living together and Isabel’s grandpa having something to do with the SS.St Louis docking at Cuba. I think in all Refugee was a really great book. Mahmoud's story had a surprising ending because this old jewish lady (that turns out to be Ruthie) and her husband let Mahmoud's family live in their house. The saddest part Ruthie told Mahmoud that Josef and her mom when to the concentration camp and died there. Josef later dies in the camps, along with Rachel. Thus, Josef's tale emphasizes how the trauma of being a refugee often forces a child to grow up far sooner than they should have to, expediting their coming of age. The end, showing the impact of a book.
