Emily was happy sitting on the back of her father's bicycle, while watching the vegetation that ran around her, due to the movement of the bicycle. Her mother was right behind her, on another bicycle, and every few minutes she was waving at her. The walk to their house was long and it was already a little late for a 4 year old girl to be awake, which made Emily struggle with the sleep that invaded her. He couldn't sleep on the back of his bike, because he couldn't hold on to his father and he would end up falling. So she promised to stay awake.

However, the sleep was very strong and she felt she was beginning to doze when she felt a tearing pain in one of her feet. Amid Emily's screams and cries, her father stopped the bike quickly and her mother sped up to catch up with them and find out what happened.

Emily's foot was bathed in blood and her side had lost all of its skin. Emily pinned her foot to one of the bicycle's tires in the middle of the nap, which caused the metal part to remove all the skin on her foot and put her through a moment of great pain.

Emily's parents rushed her to a hospital to have the professionals stop the bleeding and make some kind of dressing to help her. They did not know the severity of the cut and were afraid.

The nurse who attended Emily took care to stop the blood, stitch the cut, make dressings and give some recommendations on how Emily should be cared for in the coming days. The cut was not serious, despite leaving her foot badly injured, which indicates that she would need care.

Gradually Emily's foot healed, but after 22 years, she can look at the scar and remember that despite everything going well, that was the worst moment of her childhood.

Read the passage from Sugar Changed the World.

In the Age of Honey, people tasted the neighborhood where they lived. From a light orange-blossom flavor that is almost a perfume to dark buckwheat with a hint of soil and grain, honey tastes like local flowers. And that was only part of its appeal. Bees work very hard, and it is easy to see that a queen bee is surrounded by worker bees that protect and serve her. To the ancients, a beehive was perfect, for it brought a gift of sweetness to people while being a mirror of their lives—a king or queen served by loyal subjects.

Which is the authors’ purpose for writing this passage?

Which answer choice best corrects the run-on sentence?
Darius is my best friend, he is an amazing musician
O Darius, my best friend, amazing musician
O Darius, my best friend, is an amazing musician.
O Darius an amazing musician my best friend.
© Darius, is my best friend and amazing musician.

Answers

Answer:

The answer should be B.

Explanation:

The sentence is separated via commas, so it looks much more neat and sounds more natural. Any other answer, such as D, has only one comma placed in the beginning after "Darius". That makes the sentence sound grammatically incorrect and lengthy. Hope this helped.

The option that corrects the run-on sentence is "Darius, my best friend, is an amazing musician." Thus, option (B) is correct.

What is sentence?

Sentences are classified into four types: urgent phrases, commanding sentences, simple sentences, and convoluted sentences.

Mother Natures FuryTracy Wilson1 Looking back, I was sure that I was going to die that November afternoon. Tornado watches in Alabama are as common as eggs are for breakfast. So much so, that I had begun to ignore them altogether. This disregard for Mother Natures power nearly proved fatal for me and my sister. As we approached a fresh red light on a main thoroughfare through Huntsville, I glanced at the sudden peculiar coloring of the sky. The unusual hue and the stillness of the air gave me a sudden sense of uneasiness. The light changed and we made the left turn that would lead us home. It was after the turn that everything around me seemed to be occurring in slow motion. I heard it before I saw anything. At first I was sure that a train or a big truck was directly behind the car. Then I saw the debris, not the image of swirling winds we tend to associate with a tornado, but trash and wires and dirt.
