Civil rights for African Americans was one area that the Progressive movement largely failed to change. The Jim Crow
laws that were passed decades earlier remained firmly in place after many other reforms were achieved.
How did the Jim Crow laws limit the achievements of the Progressives? Type your response in the box below.

Answers

Answer:

Jim Crow was passed after civil war during reconstruction period after slavery was ended after Confederate's loss to Union states and 13, 14, 15th amendment/emancipation proclamation(which is not a law but a statement during war declaring end of slavery. The Jim Crow ideology, which separated blacks and whites in Southern States, were taken in place to separate places like schools, public transportation, restroom etc... These laws were driven by Democrats who largely advocated for slavery and racism.

Progressive movement is a completely different movement that focused on advocating for workers' rights in 1900s and 1910s. During Gilded Age of America, America experienced great boom in industrial revolution and economic prosperity. However, the worker's condition in major corporations were severely lacking. Many Republican politicians made corrupt deals with major tycoons, which allowed income inequality and poverty wide spread in America despite countries' overall successful financial status. To remove these corrupt republican politicians, many Democratic politicians ran a movement to stop corruption and improve worker condition(which were basis for progressive movement).

Despite, Democrat's attempt to appeal to worker's rights and income equality, there were still  majority of democrats that believed in racist ideology. These Jim Crow ideologies persisted all the way until 1950s and 1960s after World War 2 into Cold War.  Although African American voting pattern has dramatically shifted from Republican to Democrats in 1932 Roosevelt vs. Hoover due to Great Depression, the change in voting pattern were driven by progressive ideologies by Roosevelt and not racially   accepting ideology. In other words, Blacks in America started to vote Democrats despite its racist ideology due to the benefits of New Deal and Progressive movement(and such pattern is still continued to today). It can hence be concluded that despite African American voting for Democrats, the Progressive movement only cared about poorer White Working class for votes and disregarded the racial issues and deliberately ignored problems faced by poor Black families that were suffering the impact of Jim Crow and racist Democrat's policies(most likely because Democrats needed the Racist White Votes to win the government back).

Progressives aimed to reform government, business and society to fight corruption and improve America's most vulnerable populations violated the principles of equality, fairness, and morality that the Progressives were fighting for

Explain why are the seasons in Australia opposite from the seasons in the united states

Answers

Answer:

The main reason is that the USA is in the Northern Hemisphere & Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere.

Explanation:

It has all to do with the tilt of the earth as it revolves around the Sun. Summer happens in the hemisphere tilted towards the Sun, and winter happens in the hemisphere tilted away from the Sun.

Now,in June, in the USA is tilted towards the Sun, the days are getting longer & the nights shorter, so it is getting warmer in the USA as they enter their Summer. It is the exact opposite in Australia.

Now, in June,in  Australia is titled away from the Sun, the days are getting shorter & the nights longer, so it is getting cooler in Oz as they enter their Winter.

Hercules, Jason, and Theseus were Greek heroes who were noted for their stories of adventure and greatness.

Hercules is a Greek hero who was the son of the god Zeus, and the mortal Alcmena. Hercules stood out for having done twelve great works that made him well known and for this he was deified. He also stands out because he is related to characteristics such as:

Virility Extraordinary strength Courage Pride Candor Sexual vigor

Jason is a hero from Greek mythology. He was the son of Alcimede and Aeson. Jason was known for his role as leader of the Argonauts and his search for the Golden Fleece. Additionally, Jason has connections outside the classical world, as he is the mythical founder of the city of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

Theseus is was a hero of Greek mythology son of Etra and Aegean, although according to another tradition his father was Poseidon, the god of the sea. It is believed that he was the founder of Athens. Additionally, it has an outstanding story in which his father Aegean before leaving for Athens, placed a pair of sandals and a sword under a huge stone, ensuring that the son he had with Etra would be strong enough to recover those objects.

Theseus learned of this at the age of 16, he traveled to the place, raised the stone without problems, recovering the things and left for Athens.

According to the above, it can be inferred that Hercules, Jason and Theseus were Greek heroes who stood out for their stories of adventure and greatness.
