Hi can someone plz set this up properly Using a Six-Trait Rubric Personal Narratives

A friend to me means someone you can trust, someone you can tell anything to, someone who will be by your side in good times as well as in bad. A friend is someone you can go to for advice. A friend is someone you can go to if you need help whether it's studying or you just need a good crying session they are also the person who cheers you up and gives you the advice you need to get up and say I can keep going I can do this.

But unfortunately, not all friends are like the things I just mentioned they can be divided into two groups which are real and fake friends. It's quite a challenge to find real friends(lucky for me I have found one)and even harder to maintain this friendship in the long term. I had many friends at the ice rink but pretty much all of them were fake and not real friends. Normally they would come and talk with me and try to hang out during breaks if I was doing good in my lessons that day or if I got a new jump that week they would want to make plans for the weekend but something always came up.

One day I got tired of this and I could obviously see who my real friends are vs my fake friends and decided that my energy was more well spent on the people who actually wanted to see me succeed and do well in life.

So this left me with 2 great friends who I care for very much and I can't imagine my life without them!!

Will someone please write me an essay about voting laws?!! It's for edge 2021 for 60 points!!!
PROMPT
The right to vote in the United States was inspired by the principles of democratic rule found in two ancient civilizations: Greek and Roman. Athenian democracy was founded on the idea of direct involvement of its citizens. In the Roman Republic, elected representatives governed on behalf of the citizens. In both cases, citizens had a voice in government, either directly or through elected councils, and were expected to participate by voting.

Democratic government in the United States gives citizens the opportunity to vote for their representatives, but many people choose not to exercise that right. In many countries, however, compulsory voting laws exist that require all citizens to vote in elections.

In a well-developed essay that includes an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, explain whether the United States should enact a compulsory voting law or let voting remain optional. Be sure to address counterclaims in your essay and include reasons and evidence to support your argument.

Answers

Answer: Heres mine

Explanation: I think that they should let voting remain optional because there are some people who cant decide who to vote and it will put a lot of stress on them so it will push them to vote randomly. You can also die from too much stress! That is why I think they should let voting become optional.

If they enact a compulsory voting law then a lot of people will probably protest and there will be a lot of danger and riots because of it. When there are alot of riots it will lead to a nation crisis and people will suffer a lot because of it.

This is just my opinion and people might disagree with me but I personally think voting should remain optional.

Answers

Losing sight of the benefits of something implies that other affairs are put first before the activity in consideration. So, the statement that supports the idea that Americans have lost sight of the benefits of participating in sports is;

"Our existence deprives us of the minimum of physical activity essential for healthy living." (paragraph 7)

The statement above reflects the fact that Americans were not prioritizing sports. According to the author, the existence of Americans deprived them of the minimum of physical activity.

Perhaps other preoccupations were taking away the time required for sports.

Therefore, the statement in paragraph 7 is correct.

Phaeton, who has just discovered that is he is the son of the sun god, pays a visit to his father and makes a special request. In this passage consider how the author uses literary elements such as plot and language to reinforce the theme of the dangers of pride.

Answers

Answer:

An Excerpt from “Optimism”

by Helen Keller

1 Could we choose our environment, and were desire in human undertakings synonymous with

endowment, all men would, I suppose, be optimists. Certainly most of us regard happiness as

the proper end of all earthly enterprise. The will to be happy animates alike the philosopher, the

prince and the chimney-sweep. No matter how dull, or how mean, or how wise a man is, he feels

that happiness is his indisputable right.

2 It is curious to observe what different ideals of happiness people cherish, and in what singular

places they look for this well-spring of their life. Many look for it in the hoarding of riches, some

in the pride of power, and others in the achievements of art and literature; a few seek it in the

exploration of their own minds, or in the search for knowledge.

3 Most people measure their happiness in terms of physical pleasure and material possession.

Could they win some visible goal which they have set on the horizon, how happy they would be!

Lacking this gift or that circumstance, they would be miserable. If happiness is to be so

measured, I who cannot hear or see have every reason to sit in a corner with folded hands and

weep. If I am happy in spite of my deprivations, if my happiness is so deep that it is a faith, so

thoughtful that it becomes a philosophy of life,—if, in short, I am an optimist, my testimony to

the creed of optimism is worth hearing....

4 Once I knew the depth where no hope was, and darkness lay on the face of all things. Then

love came and set my soul free. Once I knew only darkness and stillness. Now I know hope and

joy. Once I fretted and beat myself against the wall that shut me in. Now I rejoice in the

consciousness that I can think, act and attain heaven. My life was without past or future; death,

the pessimist would say, “a consummation devoutly to be wished.” But a little word from the

fingers of another fell into my hand that clutched at emptiness, and my heart leaped to the

rapture of living. Night fled before the day of thought, and love and joy and hope came up in a

passion of obedience to knowledge. Can anyone who has escaped such captivity, who has felt

the thrill and glory of freedom, be a pessimist?

5 My early experience was thus a leap from bad to good. If I tried, I could not check the

momentum of my first leap out of the dark; to move breast forward is a habit learned suddenly

at that first moment of release and rush into the light. With the first word I used intelligently, I

learned to live, to think, to hope. Darkness cannot shut me in again. I have had a glimpse of the

shore, and can now live by the hope of reaching it.

6 So my optimism is no mild and unreasoning satisfaction. A poet once said I must be happy

because I did not see the bare, cold present, but lived in a beautiful dream. I do live in a

beautiful dream; but that dream is the actual, the present,—not cold, but warm; not bare, but

furnished with a thousand blessings. The very evil which the poet supposed would be a cruel

Read the passage from "The Tell-Tale Heart.”

And every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened it—oh so gently! And then, when I had made an opening sufficient for my head, I put in a dark lantern, all closed, closed, that no light shone out, and then I thrust in my head. Oh, you would have laughed to see how cunningly I thrust it in! I moved it slowly—very, very slowly, so that I might not disturb the old man's sleep. It took me an hour to place my whole head within the opening so far that I could see him as he lay upon his bed. Ha! would a madman have been so wise as this?

If A can prove, however conclusively, that he may of right enslave B, why may not B snatch the same argument and prove equally that he may enslave A? You say A is white and B is black. It is colour, then; the lighter having the right to enslave the darker? Take care. By this rule you are to be slave to the first man you meet with a fairer skin than your own.

You do not mean colour exactly? You mean the whites are intellectually the superiors of the blacks, and therefore have the right to enslave them? Take care again. By this rule you are to be slave to the first man you meet with an intellect superior to your own.

But, say you, it is a question of interest, and if you make it your interest you have the right to enslave another. Very well. And if he can make it his interest he has the right to enslave you.

What would be a perfect summary for the story “around the spade wagon”?

Answers

Answer:

It was one day yet before the round-up of the Cherokee Strip. This strip of leased Indian lands was to be worked in three divisions. We were on our way to represent the Coldwater Pool in the western division, on the annual round-up. Our outfit was four men and thirty horses. We were to represent a range that had twelve thousand cattle on it, a total of forty-seven brands. We had been in the saddle since early morning, and as we came out on a narrow divide, we caught our first glimpse of the Cottonwoods at Antelope Springs, the rendezvous for this division. The setting sun was scarcely half an hour high, and the camp was yet five miles distant. We had covered sixty miles that day, traveling light, our bedding lashed on gentle saddle horses. We rode up the mesa quite a little distance to avoid some rough broken country, then turned southward toward the Springs. Before turning off, we could see with the naked eye signs of life at the meeting-point. The wagon sheets of half a dozen chuck-wagons shone white in the dim distance, while small bands of saddle horses could be distinctly seen grazing about.

Read the paragraph below, looking for clues about the author’s point of view.

Some people think it is easy to grow vegetables, pick them, and have delicious carrots, tomatoes, beans, and cucumbers all season long. They believe the seeds just have to be planted and then watered, and soon all kinds of vegetables will be growing in the garden. That is only half true. Growing vegetables is hard work and takes quite a bit of time. Planting the seed is just the start of the work. Weeds have to be pulled from the area constantly. The ground has to be checked to make sure the seeds are getting enough water. If it doesn’t rain often enough, the tiny seedlings have to be watered by hand. Sometimes after the vegetables start come up, bugs or even animals will decide to make the carrots, beans, or other vegetables their lunch. All that hard work can amount to almost nothing.
