If freshwater is continually being recycled, then why are there water shortages?

Please answer this correctly and If you don't I will delete your answer, but (Answer FIRST correctly you are marked BRAINLIEST)

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

There is a shortage of freshwater because of overpopulation, pollution, and climate changes, which all affect natural and human recycling and cleaning processes.

Explanation:

Although the majority of our planet is made out of the water, only a small amount of it is fresh water, and even less is approachable to humans (some being trapped in the glacier for example). However, the freshwater is still disappearing.

Part of the problem is overpopulation water is being used faster than it can be recycled. People overuse water, and the freshwater is not as available since it takes time for it to be recycled by the natural process. Some of the water is also privatized by large companies and unavailable for free use by people who can't afford the bottled water.

Climate change also affects this, since it alters the weather circumstances. There are more droughts and the recycling process is shattered, not working as well as before.

Finally, so much of Earth’s supply of water is being polluted. Some are being cleaned, but some are so polluted that cleaning is considered too expensive. Therefore, as more and more water is polluted, there is less and less fresh water on the earth.

Since the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s a
[blank] economy has been replaced with a
[blank] economy across
eastern Europe. As a result, Eastern Europe has developed industrially slower than Western Europe

Fill in the blanks.

A) Capitalist; Command
B) Democracy; Capitalist
C) Command; Capitalist
D) Communist; Command

Answers

Answer:

C) Command; Capitalist

Explanation:

The Soviet Union started incorporating the "command economy" in 1924 under Joseph Stalin. Such movement was meant to overtake the economy in the West. The Communist Party controlled everything from social, political and economic aspect of the country. This led to an immediate rapid growth.

However, the command economy's long-term inefficiency soon emerged and this made the Soviet's economy stagnant. It collapsed in 1991.

Eastern Europe embraced the "capitalist economy" after the communist era. This led to the removal of price controls, which meant the prices of goods depended on supply and demand. Many of the countries resorted to speedy reform, which largely affected several countries' industrialization.

A) Imperialism
B) Expansion
C) Urbanization
D) Terrorism

Answers

Answer:

A. Imperialism

Explanation:

European Imperialism in Africa was termed as the "Scramble for Africa." This was a time when majority of the countries in Africa were colonized by the Europeans. Much of their land was controlled because of having rich natural resources. The colonizers also imposed economic policies that were unfair to the Africans. Families were separated because of "forced labor." Men were obligated to work on the mining areas and farms. This left the women and children devastated. Since Europeans did not respect the traditions of the Africans, it led to the breaking up of values in the society.

Assimilation occurs when a government helps its populace adopt a particular cultural feature. As a result, choice (A) is the right reaction.

What is cultural assimilation?

Cultural assimilation is the process by which a minority group or culture becomes more like the dominant group in a society or adopts, wholly or partially, the values, habits, and beliefs of another group.

Full assimilation, the more common of the two because it happens naturally, is the sort of cultural assimilation that occurs naturally as opposed to forced assimilation.

Minority groups are expected to assimilate into the everyday customs of the dominant culture through linguistic and aesthetic changes as well as more important socioeconomic adjustments including integration into the local social, cultural, and economic networks.

Another aspect of assimilation is what is known as additive acculturation, in which a person broadens their cultural horizons rather than erasing their ancestry.

Hence, option (A) is accurate.

A fossil found in a surface rock layer is of the same species as a fossil found in a deeper rock layer. However, the two fossils differ slightly in structure. What do differences in the structures of the fossils indicate?

Answers

Answer:

The slight differences in the structures of the fossils indicate that the species has been evolving and adapting to its environment.

Explanation:

When we think of fossil remains of species we often tend to think that it is a species that has gone extinct or has changed enough so that its descendents are nowadays classified as different species. While this is true in big portion of the cases, it is not true entirely, as there are numerous extant species from which there are fossils from hunderds of thousands of years ago or even millions of years ago, and the changes are so little that they are still the same species.

When such fossils are examined and compared to the living members of the species it is almost always noticed that even though they are both of the same species there are some slight differences in their structures. This is due to evolution, as the organisms are adapting to the new environmental conditions, so in order to be able to survive they experience some changes that will help them in that. An excellent example are multiple species of opposums that exist nowadays and have experienced only very slight and even unnoticeable structural changes for tens of millions of years.

12. Janelle is using a globe to model the seasons. If the northern hemisphere is
tilted TOWARDS the Sun, what season is occurring in Texas? *
A. Summer
B. Fall
C. Winter
D. Spring

Answers

Answer:

Texas is experiencing summer.

Explanation:

Texas is a state in the United States, located in its southwestern part. It is entirely located in the Northern Hemisphere and just a little north of the tropical zone. It has a climate that is part of the temperate climate types, with four distinct seasons occurring during the year.

Being in the Northern Hemisphere means that when this hemisphere is tilted toward the Sun, Texas will experience summer because there will more direct sunlight and the days will also be longer. The summers in Texas tend to be very hot, but there is also high humidity because of the sea so it is unbearable, especially for people that do not leave there but have chosen the wrong time of the year to visit.
