How is “place” influencing Salvas identity?
Chapter 4
Answer:
Place is influencing Salva's identity because the war is making him and other “lost boys of Sudan” flee to Ethiopia, to a refugee camp. Also, place affects him because there is little water, “You have seen that the pond is dried up”.
In Chapter 4, the concept of "place" plays a significant role in influencing Salva's identity. Salva's ties to his native Sudan are one way that place has an impact on his identity.
Salva's sense of place is disturbed by having to flee because of the civil conflict, and he is separated from his family and neighborhood. As a result of having to adapt and survive in strange settings like refugee camps and eventually the United States, this experience molds his identity.
Salva's identity is also impacted by the physical settings he encounters. For instance, the difficult and hard desert journey molds his fortitude and perseverance. Salva's village's lush, verdant section contrasts sharply with the harsh, arid surroundings, underscoring the significance of place to his sense of belonging and cultural identity.
Overall, Salva's identity is shaped by "place" since it tests his resilience, requires him to adjust to various situations, and shapes how he views his home and community.

I’m pretty sure you question is: To find out what kind of credentials a physician or surgeon must have, which section should the reader study?
A) Education
B) Important Qualities
C) Training
D) Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations
I believe it would be D. Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations. Education would be about what you need to do to become a physician or surgeon, important qualities would be about what type of person you should be, like strong in terms of seeing blood and not being disturbed, or friendly to make your patients feel better. Training would be about how they practice surgery before operating on a real person. So therefore it would be D. Hope this helps. When August rushed home, she wasn't sure what she was going to find. The school let out because the storm was arriving, and it didn't have a cellar big enough to hold all the students of Nopali School. Since most of them lived nearby, the school allowed them to go home before the storm hit. The students' cheers and whistles could be heard over the thunder and whirring winds that whipped through the schoolyard. August, for just one second, watched them all cheer in glee and wanted so much to join them, but instead, she began running.
As August ran home, she could feel every step in her lungs. It felt like a hundred little lightning bolts shooting down her mouth and into her chest. She wanted to stop. She wanted to catch her breath. She even wanted to turn around to see if the clouds were chasing her down, but all she could think about was her family and her dog Mutton. She wanted to get to them desperately and hoped to see an abandoned house with all of them in the cellar in the backyard.
Behind her, the wind whipped up every bit of gravel and dust into the air. The dust and debris filled the air and clouded the air like cream being stirred into a cup of black coffee. The sky looked like an antique picture. The once blue sky was now a sepia tone that August had only seen in old pictures. It was beautiful in a way, like some sort of painting.
The only problem with tornadoes was that in addition to all of the beauty they painted in the sky, they also brought about destruction. In fact, August's school had been rebuilt twice because tornadoes had brought it down twice in the last 5 years.
August remembered the desks splintered into two, looking like broken bones, the brass bell twisted and tangled like a ball of twine, the roof with holes the size of tractors. She knew first-hand how a tornado could bend a town until it broke. This knowledge is what kept her running. This knowledge is what made it easy to forget about the lightning in her lungs.

Discuss the following question. Would you recommend living in a city or living in the desert?
Include information about:
● the similarities and differences
● the reasons one place is better than the other
Answer:
Recommend living in the city.
Explanation:
Well, first of all, I'd recommend living in a city. Therefore it would have many places to get food or water, houses/condos/places to sleep, a job, and the weather is decent. In the desert, you may only get half of what you get in the city.
In the desert, there are limited water and food, weather is semi-decent, and there is barley any people living in the desert. (So much for having a social life, amirite?)
And, living in the desert, there aren't many properties for sale there. You'd have to buy a house for loads and tons of cash. In the city, it really depends on which city you live in to get the price of a house.
A city is a town with people and animals living there and relating with one another. The desert is a lonely and dusty piece of and with travelers passing through. I will recommend living in a city. A city and a desert are both situated on the land. However, living in the city is better than living in the desert because of the interactions between the multitude of people that dwell there. Living in the desert is harmful to health because of its dusty nature.
Given that the desert has little vegetation, few animals and individuals residing there, there is hardly anything to look forward to there. However, a city is bubbling with activities and will be exciting to live in. Therefore, living in the city is better than living in the desert.

Why does it make you a better leader to acknowledge your mistakes rather than try to hide them?
Answer:
Explanation:
It shows honesty when you admit you are in error. To dispute an allegation that is not correct is one thing. To commit something that is not right is another. It is better to admit the error and move on. When people bring it up, the sting is not noticed so much because it is "old news." Their attitude becomes "We know that. Can we go on?"

about teen heroes
Answer:
Teen Heros can help people by doing the right thing
Explanation:
i suck at this but sorry
Answer:
When someone asks you who your favorite hero is, you probably wouldn’t answer by saying your parents. I sure don’t, usually I’ll say Spiderman or maybe Captain America. But that’s not the truth, more specifically it isn’t my truth. If I’m being completely honest, my first and favorite hero is my dad.
Since before I was born, my dad always knew he was going to love me with all his heart. All the sacrifices, tough decisions, and sleepless nights he spent, were all for me. I remember learning about how my dad came to this country with my grandparents and his siblings looking for a better life for the future generations, knowing there were risks, and risking it all. Learning about how he dropped out of highschool to work to support his family, not knowing how it would affect him in the long run. He did all that for me, although maybe he didn’t know it then. Me being born was the best thing that ever happened to him, he even wrote me a letter! I remember times where I would wake him up in the middle of the night, asking him for piggy back rides and for him to stay up with me to watch those corny shows in Spanish that I couldn’t really understand but thought they were interesting anyways, and he would he would do it even if it was after a long day. The joy and excitement I felt every time he came home from work with a doll in his hand, tired but still willing to give me the world. Or, my favorite story, how my dad would go to the store and buy me a Tweety themed cake and balloons even though it wasn’t my birthday because he knew how much I liked to stuff my face with cake. We were each other’s everything, the sun, the moon, the stars, and more.
My sister was born on October 4, 2008. That day our lives changed, I still don’t know if it was for the better or worst. She was sick. The doctors only gave her a month to live. I still couldn’t understand anything besides the fact that my parents were sad, and I was alone. She went through so much in the span of a year, three organ transplants and multiple hospitalizations, during which my dad assumed the role of my mom. My poor mother was by my sister’s side the entire time. I did everything with him, from sleeping in his bed because I was scared, to going to work with him every single day. Oh, and of course complaining to him that I was hungry everyday after school. This went on for years. When I wasn’t with him I was at my grandparent’s house, or on rare occasions, with my sister and my mom.
When I was in elementary school, I would say I liked Batman, because that was, and still is, my dad’s favorite superhero. I didn’t really care for heroes when I was younger, I just knew the basics. They were people with superhuman abilities. But, I think my dad fits under that category. He has the ability to make me feel happy and joyful, even if I’m mad. He makes me feel safe, and warm, and loved. Although sometimes I may get angry or moody, I will always love him.
Our Baby
Today I write these words for my child, who is on the way. I can say that I feel like the luckiest man in the world to have been able to find a woman like my wife. She has returned my happiness. I’m happy about everything, how things have turned out. Now, I only care about my child, who I already feel like I love so much, and who I know I will love even more when they are with me. I wish more than anything for my baby to be born. So I can hug, caress, and kiss it and be able to share them with the world. A child is the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
